Gantry CNC Milling Machine BR2516
A fixed-bed gantry with a 2500 mm table rated to 5 t and a 24-station disc tool changer.
View modelThe GMB2016 moves the columns, not the workpiece. A 3000 to 4000 mm envelope and a 1000 mm Z travel sit inside a footprint far shorter than a fixed-column gantry of the same reach, which is the whole point of the moving-column layout. High-strength castings, a 24-arm tool changer and a nitrogen-balanced spindle head keep heavy milling, boring and drilling accurate on large plates and frames.
A fixed-column gantry has to be long enough to stroke the table past both ends of the part. A moving-column gantry travels the structure instead, so the same 3000 or 4000 mm envelope needs a shorter machine — and less of your shop floor.
The datasheet prints this gantry range as two columns. Column spacing matters as much as table size — it sets how wide a part can pass between the uprights.

Component brands are the datasheet's listed alternatives and are matched to the machine build. Control system, spindle option and options package are confirmed before production.
A gantry is only as accurate as the parts that move on it. These are the units that decide how the machine behaves in a heavy cut.
A Taiwan spindle unit, high-speed and high-precision, chosen for surface finish as much as for power.
A 24-arm magazine from OKADA, DETA or HDW, changed from the program so long cycles run unattended.
Hiwin or PMI screws with TPI, NSK or SKF bearings, keeping the three axes accurate and repeatable.
A PMY-25-5 coolant pump and single-line damping lubrication, with a spindle-nose cleaning air blast.

A 1000 mm Z axis carries a large, heavy headstock. Without help, the Z servo would fight that mass on every rapid and every feed change, and the axis would sag when the drive relaxed.
Work that is defined by its dimensions, its weight or both.
Large mould bases and die plates with many holes, bores and faces machined to a single datum.
Beds, columns and frames for machine builders, rough machined and finished on the same bed.
Heavy forming dies, bolster plates and press tooling where rigidity in the cut is what protects the tool edge.
Gearbox housings, bearing housings and valve bodies for power generation and heavy industry.
Large welded frames and structures machined after fabrication to correct distortion.
Subcontract work where the machine has to accept plates up to four metres long without re-setup.

View modelIn a moving-column gantry the columns and cross rail travel along the bed while the workpiece stays fixed. Because the machine does not need a long table stroke to reach the ends of the part, a 3000 or 4000 mm envelope fits into a noticeably shorter footprint than a fixed-column machine of the same capacity. The result is large travel without the extra shop space that usually goes with it.
The spindle head is heavy, and on a 1000 mm Z axis that weight would have to be carried by the Z servo. The nitrogen balance cylinder offsets most of the head weight, so the servo works against cutting force instead of gravity. That makes the Z axis faster, more accurate and less prone to sag or stick-slip at high feed rates.
The bed, table, columns, cross beam, saddle and spindle head are all cast from high-strength iron using the resin-sand process, then aged to relieve the internal stresses that cutting forces would otherwise release as distortion. The ribbing pattern, designed in 3D, raises rigidity further, and the moving-column layout keeps the cutting force close to the structure that resists it.
The datasheet lists two builds: a 3000 by 1800 mm table with a 2200 mm column spacing and an 18 kW spindle, and a 4000 by 2070 mm table with a 2400 mm column spacing and a 22 kW spindle. Both carry a BT50 taper, a 1000 mm Z travel and spindle speeds from 30 to 6000 rpm.
Tool changers come from OKADA, DETA or HDW; spindle units from Posa, VOLIS or Roral; ball screws from Hiwin or PMI; pneumatic components from AirTAC; unclamping cylinders from Hao cheng; lubrication pumps from Hu run or HERG; screw bearings from TPI, NSK or SKF; and the coolant pump is a PMY-25-5. The three-axis motors are matched to the selected CNC system.
Options include an indexing head, an automatic chip conveyor, a fixture kit, a machine vice, spindle speeds above 12,000 rpm with a direct-drive spindle, a 65 mm centre probe with a split probe unit, a Z-axis indicator, spindle through-coolant with an oil-water separator, a 10,000 rpm spindle and video monitoring. Options are confirmed on the build sheet before production.
