FRM-980LD Ink Wheel Sealer
The floor-standing version, printing three lines of date and shelf-life data on foil, plastic and composite bags.
View modelOne pass closes the bag and finishes the label. The FRM-980W heat-seals the bag mouth, embosses a steel pattern for tamper evidence and prints a coloured date or batch code of up to 15 characters from a heated ink wheel. With stepless speed control to 24 m/min and a widened H59 brass heating block, it handles everything from thin aluminium foil pouches to heavy laminated composite bags.
Printing after sealing means a second machine, a second operator and a second chance to misalign the code. The FRM-980W folds the print step into the sealing step, so the date and batch number land in the same position on every bag at the same time as the seal is formed.
The value of a continuous sealer is in the sequence. Heat alone is not enough; the film must be fused, then cooled, then pressed, in that order.
The delivery table positions the bag mouth between the two moving sealing belts, which grip and carry it forward.
The H59 brass block at 0–250 °C transfers heat through the belt, softening the thermoplastic plies of the bag mouth.
A cooling fan accelerates the temperature drop so the molten film sets without stretching or wrinkling.
The embossing and ink wheels roll the seal flat, press the knurl pattern and print the date or batch code.

Aperture, conveyor length and imprint wording are confirmed against your bag size before production. Type characters and ink colour are specified per order.
These are the parts that separate a machine that seals well on day one from one that still seals well after a year of shifts.
An H59 brass heating block resists deformation and corrosion and spreads heat evenly across the full seal width.
Insulation pads above and below the block keep heat out of the frame, while a cooling fan controls the drop after sealing.
Motor and gearbox share one housing for higher transmission efficiency, lower noise and a longer service life.
A stainless steel belt guard has no sharp corners, and the frame is finished with R7 edges and stainless fasteners.
The controller reads in degrees, but the film only cares whether it fuses without burning. Use this window as a starting point and confirm on waste bags.
| Film | Thickness | Starting Temperature | Suggested Speed |
|---|---|---|---|
| PE film | 0.02–0.06 mm | 110–130 °C | 14–20 m/min |
| PP film | 0.03–0.08 mm | 130–150 °C | 12–18 m/min |
| Laminated composite | 0.08–0.20 mm | 150–180 °C | 8–14 m/min |
| Aluminium foil bag | 0.10–0.30 mm | 160–200 °C | 6–12 m/min |
| Heavy gauge kraft laminate | 0.30–0.80 mm | 190–230 °C | 4–8 m/min |
Temperatures and speeds are practical starting values for the FRM-980W, not fixed settings. The exact window depends on coating weight, ambient temperature and the ink wheel setting.
A wide film range in one machine means one sealer can cover several product lines. The table below maps the common bag materials to the way the FRM-980W is set up for them.
Any industry that seals a bag and stamps a date on it is a candidate. These are the sectors that specify this model most often.

Foil and composite bags of tablets, powders and crop products coded with batch and expiry data as they seal.
Tea, coffee, spices, nuts and dried fruit packed in plastic and aluminium foil bags with a legible date.
Detergent, lubricant and hardware packs in composite bags where the printed code survives handling.
Air express, air freight and sea freight for larger quantities, trackable from the factory door.
T/T bank transfer and other agreed methods, with Incoterms confirmed on the proforma invoice.
A 2-year warranty covers parts and labour, with consumables and spare parts supplied quickly.
Double-layer packing with a thick outer carton and foam cushions that stop movement in transit.
It combines three operations on a single pass: heat sealing that fuses the two plies of the bag mouth, steel-wheel embossing that presses a knurled pattern for grip and tamper evidence, and an ink-wheel printer that applies a coloured date, batch or lot code of up to 15 type characters.
The machine handles aluminium foil bags, plastic bags and laminated composite bags from 0.02 mm to 0.80 mm thick, covering the soft and heavy gauge films used in pharmaceutical, agrochemical, food, household chemical and lubricant packing.
An electronic constant-temperature controller holds the H59 brass heating block between 0 and 250 C. The controller shows the heater temperature and drives both the motor speed and the printing position from separate adjustments, so speed and print location are set independently.
The widened H59 brass block resists deformation and corrosion and spreads heat more evenly than a thin element. Insulating pads above and below the block stop heat escaping into the frame, and a cooling fan accelerates the drop in temperature after the seal zone so bags do not overheat.
The delivery table adjusts up and down as well as forward and back, so the bag mouth enters the sealing belts squarely whatever the pack height or width. This keeps the seal line straight and the printed code at a consistent distance from the bag edge.
Yes. With an unlimited seal length and stepless speed control up to 24 m/min, the machine can run as a stand-alone bench unit or be placed in a packing line. The stainless steel belt guard and the R7 edge treatment on the frame keep operators safe during long shifts.
Each unit is assembled and tested before dispatch and ships in a double-layer carton with foam cushions. Standard production is about 5 working days with express transit of roughly 4 to 6 working days. Consumable parts such as the heating element, high-temperature belt and ink wheel are available as spares.
