FRM-980W Bench Sealer
The lighter bench version, sealing and printing 15 characters of type from the same ink-wheel principle.
View modelA heavier, higher-rated version of the classic ink-wheel sealer, built to sit on the floor and run all shift. The FRM-980LD seals the bag mouth and prints up to three lines of date, shelf life or batch data at up to 24 m/min, with electronic constant-temperature control holding the seal zone between 0 and 250 °C.
On a busy packing floor the sealer is rarely moved. A floor-standing frame puts the sealing line at the right height for the operator and the product stream, and the extra mass keeps the belt speed steady when bags are placed one after another without a pause.
One pass of the bag across the machine carries it through four fixed stages, and the code is applied only after the seal has set.
The bag mouth enters the moving belts, which carry it at a steady speed set on the controller.
The heating block, held between 0 and 250 °C, fuses the two plies of the bag mouth through the belt.
The bag passes the cooling zone, where the fused film hardens before any pressure is applied.
The heated ink wheel presses up to three lines of date, shelf life or batch data onto the set seal.
Colour print, no computers, and a code that can be changed in minutes: the reasons this format has stayed popular for decades.
Production date, shelf life and batch number fit in one impression, in colour, on the seal line itself.
Electronic constant-temperature control keeps the heating block stable, so the seal does not weaken at the end of a long run.
The belt carries the bag through, so short pouches and long bags seal on the same machine with no change of parts.
With a 5 kg conveyor load and steady belt speed, the unit slots into a packing line or works stand-alone.
The code is applied from a sealed ink wheel rather than an open ink system, which suits food and pharma packing rooms.
Few moving parts and standard consumables: an ink wheel, a heating element and high-temperature cloth cover most of what wears.

The datasheet names this model floor-standing and lists the dimensions above; both are reproduced as supplied. Film thickness is quoted as 0.02–0.08 mm for this model, narrower than the bench FRM-980W range, so confirm your film against the datasheet before ordering.
An ink-wheel sealer is at its best on the medium-thickness films that hold a clean printed impression. Use this table to check your own bag against the datasheet range.
| Market | Bag Type | Film Thickness | Typical Print |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pharmaceutical | Aluminium foil bag | 0.02–0.05 mm | Batch no. and expiry date, 3 lines |
| Agrochemical | Composite bag | 0.05–0.08 mm | Licence, batch and production date |
| Food | Plastic or foil bag | 0.02–0.06 mm | Production and best-before date |
| Household chemical | Composite bag | 0.05–0.08 mm | Batch and shelf-life code |
| Lubricant | Composite or foil bag | 0.05–0.08 mm | Batch and date code |
Coating and ink both affect print clarity. Send a bag and we will confirm the temperature, speed and ink setting on the actual film.
Wherever a batch number and a date are mandatory, the FRM-980LD prints them as the seal is made.

Foil and composite bags coded with batch and expiry data, with three lines available for regulatory wording.
Coffee, tea, spices and dry food bags sealed and dated in a single continuous pass.
Household chemical and lubricant packs where the printed code has to survive transport and storage.
Air express, air freight and sea freight, trackable from the factory door to your site.
T/T bank transfer and other agreed methods, with terms confirmed on the proforma invoice.
A 2-year warranty covers parts and labour, with consumables and spare parts supplied quickly.
Double-layer packing with a thick outer carton and foam cushions that stop movement in transit.
The heated ink wheel prints up to three lines of coloured type, typically production date, shelf life or best-before date, and batch or lot number. The type is charged in minutes when the wording changes, and the impression stays crisp because it is pressed onto the seal line rather than sprayed over the film.
Both use the same continuous heat-and-print principle. The FRM-980LD is built as the floor-standing model with a heavier 35 kg frame, a higher 620 W power rating and three print lines, while the bench model is lighter and suited to a packing table. Choose the floor unit when a single machine has to run longer shifts and carry a fixed conveyor position.
It seals aluminium foil bags, plastic bags and laminated composite bags with a film thickness of 0.02 to 0.08 mm, the range used across pharmaceutical, agrochemical, food, household chemical and lubricant packing. The 0 to 250 C heating range covers the coatings normally used on those films.
No. The bag mouth is carried between two moving sealing belts, so the seal runs continuously for as long as the bag is long. This is what allows the FRM-980LD to be used inside a packing line as well as stand-alone, and why it can seal both short pouches and long bags without a change of jaw.
The printing position is adjusted separately from the belt speed, so changing the output rate does not shift the code along the bag. The conveyor load of 5 kg keeps the bag steady as it passes the print wheel, which is what keeps the code straight and repeatable.
Each unit is assembled and tested before dispatch and ships in a double-layer carton with foam cushions. Standard production is about 5 working days with express transit of roughly 4 to 6 working days. Heating elements, sealing belts, high-temperature cloth and ink wheels are available as spares.
