High-Pressure Root Washer
360-degree water jets on a variable-speed belt for heavy soil loads on ginger, turmeric and sweet potato.
View modelRoot crops arrive coated in soil and often need their skin removed before the next process. This machine does both at once: a bed of rotating brush rollers scrubs the surface while a top spray keeps the product wet and flushes the loosened skin away. Fitting hard bristles turns it into a peeler for potato, carrot, taro and beetroot; fitting soft bristles turns it into a gentle washer for fruit, fish and shrimp. Throughput is 450 to 600 kg per hour across two models, and the whole body is 2 mm 304 stainless steel.
Rather than soaking product in a tank, this machine keeps it moving over a bed of contra-rotating brush rollers. Friction lifts the soil and skin, the top spray carries it away, and the product leaves the machine clean and ready for cutting, cooking or packing.
Four figures that decide whether this washer fits your line.
Two sizes of the same platform. Every figure below is taken directly from the machine datasheet.

| Product size range | Approx. 10 mm to 150 mm diameter | |
Machine length, width, roller count and roller type are customised against your throughput and cleaning requirement. Confirm the product diameter and the process water arrangement before ordering.
Four practical reasons this platform is common in root crop and vegetable lines.
One pass removes soil and skin, cutting a process step and limiting the air exposure that darkens peeled produce.
Brush rollers lift out by hand, so switching between hard and soft bristles or fitting replacements is a short job.
The tank is leak tested before dispatch and fitted with a drain valve, so waste water is emptied quickly after each shift.
The same design runs as a stand-alone unit or as the first station of a vegetable processing line, and rolls straight into an existing layout.
The bristles decide what the machine is: a peeler, a washer, or a gentle handler for soft products. Use this table to specify the roller set with the order.
| Aspect | Hard Bristle Rollers | Soft Bristle Rollers | Custom Roller Layout |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main purpose | Scrub soil away and peel the skin | Wash without marking the surface | Match the roller count and spacing to the product |
| Typical produce | Potato, carrot, taro, beetroot | Apple, pear, kiwi, fish, shrimp | Mixed root and fruit programmes |
| Peeling effect | Yes, skin removed | No, cleaning only | Yes, where the layout includes hard rollers |
| Surface result | Skin and root hairs removed, flesh exposed | Surface intact, no abrasion marks | Combination of both, set per product |
| Roller length | 1000 mm on VWM100 | 1000 mm on VWM100 | 1000–1500 mm, customisable |
| Change-over | Quick-release rollers, swapped by hand in minutes with no specialist tools | ||
| Best for | Processors peeling roots before cutting or freezing | Produce packers and seafood rooms needing a gentle wash | Lines that run more than one product across the week |
Bristle hardness, roller count and roller spacing are confirmed against a product sample before production. With normal care, brush rollers reach up to five years of service.
Once the tank is filled and the machine is running, the operator only loads and collects product.
Fill the tank, confirm the motor runs the right way round, and set the roller speed for the product.
Feed product onto the roller bed in a steady stream, keeping sizes between 10 mm and 150 mm.
The rollers scrub the surface while the top spray rinses loosened soil and skin away from the product.
Cleaned product leaves at the far end of the bed, ready for sorting, cutting or packing.
With the right roller set, the same machine serves an unusually wide product range.

Potato, carrot, ginger, onion, sweet potato, cassava, yam, taro and radish cleaned and peeled before cutting or freezing.
Apple, pear and kiwi washed on soft rollers, and fish or shrimp handled without damage to the surface.
Restaurants, vegetable processing plants, central kitchens and food distribution centres with continuous daily production.
Commissioning guidance is written for the operator who runs the machine, not for a service engineer.
Levelling, water connection, motor phase check and a full test cycle with your product are covered by a written procedure and video.
A spare parts kit ships with the machine, and additional brush rollers, screens and pumps are available by air express.
Major parts are replaced within the warranty period, and technical help continues online for the life of the machine.
Operating, cleaning and troubleshooting guides are supplied, covering pump noise, chain wear and reduced cleaning effect.
Yes. With hard bristle rollers fitted, one pass removes soil and peels potato, carrot, taro and beetroot, while the top spray rinses the loosened skin away. Peeling and washing together also limits the time the cut surface is exposed to air, which helps suppress browning.
Yes. Change the roller set to soft bristles and the same machine washes fruit such as apple, pear and kiwi, and soft products such as fish and shrimp, without marking the surface. Rollers are quick-release and swap over in minutes.
Keep product between about 10 mm and 150 mm in diameter. Anything larger can jam the roller bed, and anything smaller can fall through the gaps and block the machine.
With normal care the rollers last up to five years of production use. Bristles wear out before the shaft does, and replacement rollers are fitted by hand following a short step-by-step video.
The body is built in 2 mm 304 stainless steel, corrosion resistant and suited to food production. A drain valve empties the tank after the shift, and the tank screens and filters are removable for rinsing.
Daily: clean the machine and rinse the water and filter tanks. Quarterly: lubricate the drive chain, inspect the motor, and check the wiring and mounting. Following this plan reduces faults and keeps throughput stable.
The machine carries a 12-month warranty from delivery, with replacement of major parts during the period. A full spare parts kit ships with the unit and we provide operating videos plus online technical support for the life of the machine.
