Heavy-Duty Stone Engraving Machine 1212
A reinforced frame and stone spindle on a 1300×2500 mm table with safety laser curtains.
View modelStone is not wood with a harder surface. It needs a high-torque spindle that holds cutting force, a frame that does not shake, and water — both to keep the cutter cool and to keep silica dust out of the air. The FSM1313 is built around all three, with a 1300 by 1300 mm table, a 5.5 kW constant power stone spindle and a water tank, for lettering, relief and monument work in marble, granite, ceramics and glass.
Three design decisions separate a stone engraving machine from a general-purpose router.
A 5.5 kW constant power stone spindle keeps cutting force steady as the load changes, which suits the variable hardness found inside a single block of granite.
A cast steel gantry, side supports and table on a vibration-aged T-steel frame, with imported square linear rails and multi-row blocks.
A water tank and bidirectional tool cooling system cool the cutter and suppress dust, which protects both the tool and the operator.
The same machine, but the method changes with the stone. Hard stone is taken in layers; soft stone goes deeper in one pass.
| Material | Method | Depth per pass | Cooling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Granite and hard stone | Layered engraving, successive passes | To 5 mm total | Water, continuous |
| Marble and bluestone | Single pass engraving | 5 mm | Water, continuous |
| Jade, crystal and agate | Fine carving and relief | Per tool and material | Water, continuous |
| Ceramic and porcelain | Engraving and edge work | Per tool and material | Water, continuous |
| Glass and acrylic | Line carving and edge work | Per tool and material | Water, continuous |
Depth figures are transcribed from the machine datasheet for granite, marble and bluestone. For other materials the depth and feed are set per tool and per piece; send a sample and we will confirm the parameters.

Table size, Z travel and control system are confirmed before production. Software compatibility covers Type3, Artcam, Castmate and UCANCAM, and a full set of carving tools including relief cutters is supplied with the machine.
Stone cutting removes a lot of material at high pressure, and it produces two things a machine has to deal with: heat at the tool edge and silica dust in the air. One water circuit handles both.
The operations this machine is bought for, and the sectors that buy it.
Engraved letters and calligraphy in marble, granite and bluestone for signs, plaques and inscriptions.
Art reliefs, portraits and decorative panels carved in three dimensions from a design file.
Raised lettering and figures where the design stands proud of the background surface.
Moulded and profiled edges on stone slabs and worktops, finished on the same machine.
Cut-outs, shapes and hollowed forms for basins, ornaments and architectural stonework.
Monument and memorial work, decorative building elements and ceramic processing.
A larger stone bed with a heavier frame and an ATC head option, or a wood router for softer work.

View modelDepth depends on the stone. Hard stone such as granite is engraved in layers, so a 5 mm depth is reached through successive passes. Softer stones such as marble and bluestone can be engraved 5 mm deep in a single pass. The same tooling also works on jade, crystal, agate, glass and ceramics, though the feeds are set per material.
Two reasons. Water keeps the cutter cool, which matters because stone cutting generates a great deal of heat at the tool edge and a hot cutter loses its hardness quickly. Water also suppresses the silica dust that stone machining produces, which is a health hazard if it becomes airborne. The machine is built with a water tank and a bidirectional tool cooling system to do both jobs.
Stone lettering, relief carving, positive carving, edge grinding, line carving, cutting and hollowing out. It is used for engraved lettering and calligraphy, art reliefs, monument and memorial work, decorative building elements and ceramic processing, and it comes with a full set of carving tools including cutters for relief work.
The table is a welded T-steel structure that is vibration aged, and the gantry, side supports and table are cast steel. Imported square linear guideways with dual-row and four-row blocks carry the axes, which gives high load capacity, fast movement, smooth running and long life. The result is a machine that runs without noticeable shake, which is what produces a high surface finish on stone.
The spindle is a 5.5 kW constant power stone spindle running at 24,000 rpm with an ER25 collet, with large bearings and high swarf clearance so the motor is not easily damaged. X and Y are driven by German helical rack and pinion and Z by a TBI ball screw, all running on HIWIN or THK linear rails.
The control includes breakpoint memory, so the job can resume from where it stopped after an unexpected interruption rather than starting again. That is useful on long stone carvings where a broken cutter or a pause overnight would otherwise waste the whole piece. Main components carry a two-year warranty.
